I am very lucky to work with a super-good-recruiter-stroke-strategist-stroke-social-network-guru. Her name is Jessie Wang and she is originally from Beijing, but tri-lingual and part educated in UK................ (MBA dropout lol.... but don't forget she already had an MSc, BSc, PgDip....:)

She's been cracking the dragons glass over the Chinese Social Networking scene, and she and I have been in no small part responsible for the large increase in numbers by evangelising the merits of using it to our Chinese contacts - mainly big cheese VP/Director folks working for Multinationals, but also local academics and expats.

She wrote a blog article which already lives at www.idealpeopleblog.com - which is unfortunately restricted here in China (like most of the rest of Wordpress Blogs) but I thought it might be nice to share on our network for any non-English speaking users who want to understand the whole online networking concept better.

Everyone knows that the Chinese are the best offline 'networkers' in the world - we English are a little too stuffy for that :)

So, expect to see a massive increase of Linkedin users in the coming months and years from China....

Tip I 老生常谈-简历仍是敲门砖

在我们庞大的跨国简历库中,越来越多的华人求职者跃入其中。我可以说这些被我们录入数据库的简历是比较亮眼的,但有更多申请人因为简历不够出色而被判予直接出局。当然我们是很尊重每一个求职者的申请,但我们更要保证数据库的质量以及对我们顶级客户的保障。

每天有数千百的简历涌向我们的顾问,坦白的说,对于任何猎头顾问其实预先筛选的耗时是非常之短暂的。如何吸引猎头的眼球?

第一,简洁明了的整体布局
试想如果你是猎头顾问,每天要浏览数千简历-那些在几秒钟内即可找到重点和概览的简历;同那些结构混乱,主要卖点隐藏而不可掠见的简历,如果每份简历你只有10秒钟去决定,是取是舍,毋庸置疑。

第二,文字与语言仍是关键
虽然此文主要献给那些双语求职者,但我要强调的是出色的英文简历其实更能够为你开启一扇成功之门。不论是跨国公司还是跨国猎头,英文仍是最国际化的通用语言。跨国猎头更加看重一份好的英文简历。文法,用词以及语法都是成败与否的关键。如果顾问要花费很多时间去帮助申请人修改简历的错误拼写及语法,猎头本身也会对申请人的后期进程表示担忧。

我的建议是在你发送你的简历之前一定再三斟酌你的语言,不妨找英文是母语的朋友帮你检查指点。当然爱洲国际也有很周到的简历服务,如果你不是很确定你的简历,也欢迎你联系我们 Jessie.wang@idealpeople.net 我会尽力给你最专业的建议。

第三,强调成就好过叙述流水账
很多申请人只是一味的把自己的历史如数家珍一番,其实这样是很难让我们了解你的出众之处的。不妨多叙述你的成就,比如你在多少时间内成功完成了多少的指标,领导了多少人,给公司带来了多少利润等等。这些使人信服的实例好过一味叙述你的职责。
