Tips on using Linkedin

Please.....always check out the person inviting you before accepting their invite.

You shouold Never ‘Accept All’

Do....Consider who might be checking your Linkedin Profile – and why. Don’t be afraid to check this out for yourself. It's been said before but - You’re an open book on Linkedin.

Don’t..... think of Linkedin as a ‘Social Network’. Sure, it can be sociable, but don’t be fooled into missing it’s value as a seriously powerful ‘career’ tool.

Keep Quality in mind first, and Quantity second. Ask yourself how you can enhance your existing network (add value) before you increase (add connections)

Don’t always ‘rate’ the significance or usefulness of people by the size of their network, or even the visibility they have. Size might matter but it doesn't count for everything.

If you aren’t sure about an invite – qualify them out with an email/msg reply before approving them as a contact. Doo Diligence on your network is healthy.

If Facebook is a “Rave” or a “Social Party” then Linkedin is the uber-tech –two-point-zero-networking-event of the last 100 years.
